


2011 STAGE ONE MODIFIED RULES
- CHASSIS
- Must have 4 six inch steel bodied non-adjustable Pro Shocks – any standard valving
- Must have 4 ten inch Hoosier Racing Tires (any compound, size, or style allowed).
- Must have a bead lock wheel on Right Rear.
- Must have 1 ¾ inch Aluminum splined rear axle (51-53”)
- Must Weigh 800lbs with driver after each race
- Body must match Smith Fabrications Templates
- Must be built by Smith Fabrications – NO EXCEPTIONS
- ENGINE
- Any Briggs & Stratton Vanguard V-Twin Engine with a 1” PTO crank shaft my be used (16-23hp)
- Must be stock appearing from original manufacture (Heads, Engine, Block, Intake Manifold, starter, and covers must be standard B&S parts). Any internal modifications to heads, Block and Intake Manifolds are allowed.
- Aluminum Flywheels are allowed
- Roller Rocker Arms are allowed
- Aluminum pushrods are allowed
- Any Piston and connecting rods are allowed
- Any solid lifter camshaft is allowed
- CARBURETION
- All carb must be original B&S 2barrell carb part numbers that come standard allowed on motors (16-23hp).
- All carbs must be stock appearing from original manufacture design.
- Internal modifications are allowed
- Carb elbows (intake manifold and air cleaner) must be B&S parts
- Any spacing between intake elbow and manifold is allowed as long as carb remains under engine cover.
- FUEL
- Only regular methanol is allowed NO additives (mtbe, nitro, etc.)
- EXHAUST
- All exhaust must exit through one noise approved muffler
- All exhaust must remain in the confines of the body of the car
- GEARS
- Any type of material maybe used for axle gears (Plastic, aluminum, or steel, etc.)
- The gear rule is in effect:
- Borger’s Speedway – 75 tooth gear MAX
- WVMP – 73 tooth gear MAX
- Kutztown – 72 tooth gear MAX
- SAFETY
- Must have an approved 5 point seat belt harness with an expiration date of 3 years or less
- Belts must be bolted to or wrapped around the frame
- Must have an engine ignition kill switch and MARKED fuel shut off in the car
- Must have an approved aluminum seat bolted in with no less than four 3/8” grade eight bolts and nuts
- Head rest is recommended
- All weights must be safely secured within the frame of the carp
