2011 STAGE ONE MODIFIED RULES

  1. CHASSIS
    1. Must have 4 six inch steel bodied non-adjustable Pro Shocks – any standard valving
    2. Must have 4 ten inch Hoosier Racing Tires (any compound, size, or style allowed).
    3. Must have a bead lock wheel on Right Rear.
    4. Must have 1 ¾ inch Aluminum splined rear axle (51-53”)
    5. Must Weigh 800lbs with driver after each race
    6. Body must match Smith Fabrications Templates
    7. Must be built by Smith Fabrications – NO EXCEPTIONS
  1. ENGINE
    1. Any Briggs & Stratton Vanguard V-Twin Engine with a 1” PTO crank shaft my be used (16-23hp)
    2. Must be stock appearing from original manufacture (Heads, Engine, Block, Intake Manifold, starter, and covers must be standard B&S parts). Any internal modifications to heads, Block and Intake Manifolds are allowed.
    3. Aluminum Flywheels are allowed
    4. Roller Rocker Arms are allowed
    5. Aluminum pushrods are allowed
    6. Any Piston and connecting rods are allowed
    7. Any solid lifter camshaft is allowed
  1. CARBURETION
    1. All carb must be original B&S 2barrell carb part numbers that come standard allowed on motors (16-23hp).
    2. All carbs must be stock appearing from original manufacture design.
    3. Internal modifications are allowed
    4. Carb elbows (intake manifold and air cleaner) must be B&S parts
    5. Any spacing between intake elbow and manifold is allowed as long as carb remains under engine cover.
  1. FUEL
    1. Only regular methanol is allowed NO additives (mtbe, nitro, etc.)
  1. EXHAUST
    1. All exhaust must exit through one noise approved muffler
    2. All exhaust must remain in the confines of the body of the car
  1. GEARS
    1. Any type of material maybe used for axle gears (Plastic, aluminum, or steel, etc.)
    2. The gear rule is in effect:
      1. Borger’s Speedway – 75 tooth gear MAX
      2. WVMP – 73 tooth gear MAX
      3. Kutztown – 72 tooth gear MAX
  1. SAFETY
    1. Must have an approved 5 point seat belt harness with an expiration date of 3 years or less
    2. Belts must be bolted to or wrapped around the frame
    3. Must have an engine ignition kill switch and MARKED fuel shut off in the car
    4. Must have an approved aluminum seat bolted in with no less than four 3/8” grade eight bolts and nuts
    5. Head rest is recommended
    6. All weights must be safely secured within the frame of the carp
